Navigating Medical School, Trainee Advice

Earn Honors on Your Psychiatry Rotation

I love to help medical students navigate the process of medical school. Medical school can be incredibly challenging, especially if you don’t have access to a mentor! I recently had the idea to host a webinar to share insights about how you could earn honors on your psychiatry rotation.

I put together some of my top tips and tricks that helped me to earn clinical honors on my psychiatry rotations in medical school. Psychiatry has become more and more competitive every year. As a result, earning honors on your psychiatry rotation will certainly help the competitiveness of your application. More importantly, regardless of the specialty you choose, I firmly believe that all medical students and future doctors should have a strong grasp of how to interact with patients who have a mental illness.

The event was very impactful. I walked away with a strategic way of mastering not only psychiatry rotations, but how to perform psychiatric exams in a way that the patient can truly benefit from the treatment.
