Hello world!

Hello world!

Hi! My name is Atasha Jordan, and I’m a current joint degree student at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. I’m four years into completing a five-year MD-MBA program. It’s crazy how time flies (especially the business school part).

About My Past

I was born in the beautiful island of Barbados (big ups to BIM!), but I’m also half Trini (Tobagonian to be precise). My family – mum, dad, sister, and brother - moved to the US when I was 8. Okay technically I was 7 but I always round up because 8 sounds nicer to me for some reason. Anyway, we first moved to sunny Florida, then God somehow found it fitting for us to end up in Newtown, Pennsylvania. In high school, I was the ultimate sporty nerd (I literally won the Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award senior year) and went to Harvard University for college thereafter. I studied Neurobiology, Global Health, and French as a premed. I took a gap year to teach, work on some startups, and travel around Europe (I’ll likely post on all of that at some point. It was a busy/awesome year!)

About My Present

The past four years, I’ve been at UPenn. I’ve completed basically all of medical school. I have about 2 months of requirements standing between me and that MD! For the past year, I took time off from medical school to pursue my MBA at The Wharton School *in an obnoxious British accent* (that’s how I say it in my head lol). In addition to my schooling, over the past few years I have done strategic consulting for TriMed Healthcare LLC (a Pennsylvania-based homecare agency), started THI Interior Design (an interior décor and design business), started and ended a couple relationships, grown in my faith, and made a ton of great friends!

For fun, I like to take long walks, dance, listen to gospel, Christian contemporary, jazz, R&B, and a weeeee bit of trap music. I decided to make this lifestyle blog as a way for me to get my thoughts down about all of the things I love. I will share my thoughts on medicine and medical education (I have M.A.N.Y.), business, careers, faith, design, entrepreneurship, and more! I hope that you can benefit from my musings in some way 😊

Thanks for checking out my site! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or to leave any comments or suggestions.

Peace and blessings,

-Atasha Jordan, MD (to be)
